The Department of Agriculture at Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University is one of the premier points for agriculture education and research in the country. The department works on the aim to bring significant improvement in every phase of agricultural development through imparting quality knowledge which can influence the whole outlook towards the agriculture sector. The department offers- Diploma in Agriculture, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) -Hons. in Agriculture, Master of Science (M.Sc) - Agriculture with specialization in Agronomy, Plant Pathology and Plant Breeding & Genetics, which deals with imparting comprehensive knowledge and skills in the field of Agriculture. The degree encompasses disciplines like- Agricultural Microbiology, Soil Science, Genetics, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Animal Husbandry and Food Microbiology etc. Department of Agriculture at DBUU, one among the top agriculture college in Dehradun ensures to make students familiar with the use of modern scientific instruments machinery and techniques in plant and animal-based farming systems, in-depth understating of soil-science, ways of water resource management, techniques regarding animal and poultry management, basics of biotechnology etc. The course curriculum is planned in a manner to get the students acquainted with various facets of agriculture and its associated specializations. It is done through the well-equipped laboratories, in-house agriculture farms as well as in real environment under the guidance of the accomplished faculties.

Agriculture Lab

Agricultural Laboratory performs a standard agricultural soil tests, such as that performed by the Clemson Soil Test Laboratory for the purpose of recommending lime and plant nutrients needed or appropriate for good crop or forest production purposes based on Best Management Practices.

Agronomy-Lab

Agronomy Lab

The percentage of organic matter, soil pH, and nutrient holding capacity (cation exchange capacity) are tested in a regional laboratory.
