SCHOLARSHIP POLICY (2024-2025)
Terms and Conditions

The academic abilities and merit of Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University students are valued. The University awards the following scholarships to meritorious students in order to encourage scholarship among students pursuing academic excellence:

Category - 01 ( BASED ON DOMICILE)

UTTARAKHAND STATE DOMICILE POLICY

There will be a fee waiver of 25% (on tuition fee) per year for all permanent residents of Uttarakhand per year. 40% of seats for these students are reserved for the entire program of the University. To claim this scholarship, the student must carry a valid domicile certificate (original) from Uttarakhand State at the time of admission/counseling.

To continue the scholarship, the student should maintain 75% Attendance every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

OTHER HILLY STATE
DOMICILE POLICY

A scholarship of up to 10% per year on academic fees is offered to support meritorious and talented students from Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Sikkim, Nagaland, Assam, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh and District Darjeeling, Kalimpong (West Bengal).

To continue the scholarship, the student should maintain 75% Attendance every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP POLICY

A scholarship of up to 10% first year on academic fees will be awarded to students from other states of India.

Category - 02 (BASED ON MERIT)

For UG Programs: Merit Scholarships are provided for UG programmes and are applied to the programme tuition expenses based on a student's XII standard percentage at the time of enrolment. For UG programmes, merit scholarships are provided based on XII Std. grades.

For PG Programs: Merit Scholarship is open for PG courses and are applied to course tuition expenses based on graduation percentage at the time of acceptance.

Awarded to the students based on the merit which they posses-

The Merit Scholarship will be awarded to students based on their performance in their qualifying examinations if the following conditions are met:

  • All Programmes/subjects of their qualifying examination are cleared on the first attempt.

  • There will be no rounding of CGPA or the marks in their qualifying examination, for example, if a student achieves a CGPA of 8.99,” it will be considered 8.99 and not 9.00. Similarly, if a student archives 89.99%, it will be considered 90.00%
  • Second year onwards student should maintain the same SGPA in every year to avail merit scholarship.

Category - 03

BETI PADHAO SCHOLARSHIP POLICY

There will be a fee waiver of total 5% (on base fee) per year for all female students of UG, PG, and all diploma programmes with subject to the following conditions:

  • At the time of admission students need to fulfil the minimum percentage eligibility criteria to avail this scholarship.
  • Second year onwards-student should maintain 75% attendance every year withou any backlog, UFM, and indiscipline case.

KHEL RATNA SCHOLARSHIP POLICY

There will be a fee waiver of total 5% (on base fee) per year for the students with a sports background (State & National level). The scholarship will be awarded in accordance with the Sports Quota Scholarship guidelines. In subsequent years of the programme, the Sports Scholarship will be reviewed on a yearly basis with subject to the following conditions:

  • To continue the scholarship, the student should maintain 75% Attendance every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.
  • A student must participate actively in University professional level sports activities for which he or she was awarded the scholarship in the first year to keep the scholarship.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR SON/ DAUGHTER OF DEFENSE PERSONNEL [INDIAN ARMY, INDIAN AIR FORCE, INDIAN NAVY, INDIAN COAST GUARDS, PARAMILITARY FORCES INCLUDING CAPF (AC)]

  • Scholarship for Son/ Daughter of Defence Personnel (Serving / Retired)

    There will be a fee waiver of total 5% (on base fee) per year for the wards of Army/Defense Person for all UG, PG, and Diploma Programs with the subject to the following conditions:
    At the time of admission, a student will be considered eligible for the scholarship ONLY if he or she has a valid certificate/document as follows in original.
    In case of serving Defense Personnel–
    • Dependent’s card issued to the servicemen/A certificate issued by the Unit Head/C.O. of the Servicemen
    • Aadhaar card of the Serviceman
    • Aadhaar card of the student
    In case of retired Defense Personnel ––
    • Aadhaar card of the Serviceman
    • Discharge certificate of the Servicemen
    • Aadhaar card of the student

  • To continue the scholarship, the student should maintain 75% Attendance every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

Financial Assistantship

SCHOLARSHIP FOR ALUMNI OPTING FOR A HIGHER PROGRAMME AT DBUU

  • There will be a fee waiver of total 10% (on academic fee) per year for the students across India that are graduating/graduated from DBUU and opting for a higher programme at DBUU (without a gap).

These scholarships (All India , Uttarakhand and Hilly State) will be over and above all scholarships. To acquire this scholarship, student must submit the following documents:

  • University ID Card / Fee Slip

  • Copy of Provisional Certificate issued in the same year / Grade card (all semesters) / Fee Slip.

To continue the scholarship, the student should maintain 75% Attendance every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WARD OF SINGLE MOTHER

There will be a fee waiver of additional 5% (on academic fee) per year for the ward of a single mother on submission of the following documents:

  • Death Certificate of spouse/ Valid Proof of Divorce issued by Court of Law
  • An affidavit by the mother in the prescribed format (As provided by the DBUU).
  • Student has to submit the certificate of single mother issued by the competent state / National government authority

To continue the scholarship, the student should maintain 75% Attendance every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

Additionally, students must submit all required paperwork.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE ORPHAN STUDENT

There will be a fee waiver of additional 5% (on academic fee) per year for the Orphan students upon submission of the following documents/conditions:

  • Certificate from the Women Development & Child Welfare department confirming the orphan status.
  • An affidavit by the applicant duly notarized given on stamp paper of Rs.10/- undertaking that the applicant is an orphan/destitute.

To continue the scholarship, the student should maintain 75% Attendance every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

Additionally, students must submit all required paperwork.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR CURRENT/ALUMNI STUDENTS SIBLING(S)

There will be a fee waiver of total 10% (on academic fee) per year for the siblings of current/alumni students if they provide the following documents:

  • University ID card and Aadhaar/Any valid picture ID proof of siblings who bear the parent's name (Documentary proof of sibling is to be submitted).
  • A copy of the sibling's degree certificate from DBUU/DBGI (if applicable)

To continue the scholarship, the student should maintain 75% Attendance every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

Additionally, students must submit all required paperwork.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED STUDENT

There will be a fee waiver of additional 5% (on academic fee) per year for differently abled students on submission of the following documents/conditions:

  • At a State/National Government Hospital/Board, the student must have a certificate of disability issued by the Competent Authority (as per the guidelines issued by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India).

To continue the scholarship, the student should maintain 75% Attendance every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

Additionally, students must submit all required paperwork.

SCHOLARSHIP POLICY FOR THE WARDS OF EMPLOYEES OF THE DBUU

There will be a fee waiver of additional 10% (on academic fee) per year for DBUU University employees' wards which will be as follows:

  • The scholarship will be applicable to all of DBUU's programmes.
  • The scholarship will be valid for as long as the employee is employed by Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University and will be revoked after the employee has left the university.
  • The Scholarship will not be applied retroactively.

To continue the scholarship, the student should maintain 75% Attendance every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

Additionally, students must submit all required paperwork.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE EWS STUDENT

There will be a fee waiver of total 10% (on academic fee) per year for the students of EWS category if they provide the following documents/conditions:

  • Self-Declaration: To be considered for the scholarship, the student must submit a notarized declaration on Rs.10/- stamp paper, signed by all family members who earn money. The declaration format can be downloaded from the DBUU website's admissions page.
  • For the past two years, the parents' and student's income tax returns must be presented (if applicable).
  • Any other government-verified document/income proof certificate that shows the candidate's income and wealth level.

To continue the scholarship, the student should maintain 75% Attendance every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

Additionally, students must submit all required paperwork.

In all programmes, the above-mentioned scholarship will be available for the duration of the programme under the All India / Uttarakhand category.

Other Terms and Conditions for the Scholarships:

  1. If a student receives multiple scholarships, the total value of all scholarships awarded for the year cannot exceed the 50% except domicile, diversity and Hill scholarship.
  2. Among the 3 Categories (i.e; Category 1- BASED ON DOMICILE, Category 2 - BASED ON MERIT, Category 3 - ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIP) student can choose one scholarship from each category.
  3. Students who fit the University's scholarship criteria should send their application, along with any supporting paperwork, to the Registrar for consideration.
  4. The scores, marks, grades, or ranks required for scholarship consideration should not include back / improvement / supplemental papers.
  5. If it is discovered at any stage that an applicant has concealed, suppressed, or distorted any information / facts that would have rendered him or her ineligible for admission and/or benefit of fee / scholarship that has been awarded by the University based on initial documentation, the admission and/or benefit of fee / scholarship will be cancelled, and the University will recover all financial support.
  6. The Vice Chancellor's decision will be final and binding in the event of an escalation, representation, dispute, discrepancy, or clarification.
  7. The scholarship policy is subject to change at any moment by Management.
  8. If there are any more documented disciplinary infractions, the scholarship will be permanently terminated. If the student receives a scholarship in subsequent years, he or she will be ineligible.
