M.Sc. Agriculture in Genetics and Plant Breeding
A M.Sc. in Genetics and Plant Breeding  is a two-year postgraduate program for study in agriculture. It is open to people with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Biotechnology, or any other relevant discipline. Plants are the primary source of human food. Thus, in the Genetics and Plant Breeding course, it's critical to do study and figure out how to mass-produce them in large quantities. It's a crucial topic of research that focuses on feeding a large population. A variety of factors can cause crop death. As a result, plant breeders may create disease and pest-resistant plants and tolerate specific temperatures and soil conditions.
Under the M.Sc. Agriculture in Genetics and Plant Breeding Specialization at Our Department of Agriculture, students would gain theoretical and practical knowledge of important crop improvement methods like mutation breeding, plant breeding, under biotic and abiotic stress, strategies for cereal, pulse, and oilseed breeding, and prepares to enhance controlled trials by quantitative and qualitative genes, etc. Further, students would learn the principles and basics of state-of-the-art breeding techniques like marker-assisted selection, QTL and relationship mapping, and diversity analysis in the Masters in Plant Breeding & Genetics program. Traditional practical training in laboratories and in fields is an integral part of this programme. Students would interact with the domain breeders and scientists of other state research universities and private seed industries.
